Measurement guide

A. Length
Total length of the coat measured on the back, from the base of the collar straight down to the hem.

B. Chest
Width measured from armpit to armpit.

C. Waist
Width at the narrowest point of the waist, measured 40 cm down from the base of the collar.

D. Hip
Width at the hip, measured 60 cm down from the base of the collar.

E. Hem
Width of the bottom hem, measured from edge to edge.

F. Sleeve
Length measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

G. Shoulder
Width measured across the upper back from one shoulder seam to the other.


A straight fit creates a modern silhouette while offering comfortable roominess, making it easy to layer underneath.

A relaxed fit gently follows the waist while providing a little extra room through the hips and chest for added comfort.

A regular fit follows the body's natural shape for a flattering silhouette. It has a more tailored cut, particularly through the upper body.

A Joutsen classic, now even warmer.

Tauko 1936 is a generously insulated anniversary edition of the much-loved Tauko coat. The abundant down filling provides warmth during cold breaks, while the down insulation covering the pockets from the outside helps keep your hands warmer too. The larger hood is designed to fit over a ski or cycling helmet.

Thanks to the detachable shoulder straps on the inside, you can take the coat off at camp or when stepping into a shop, for example, and carry it comfortably on your back until you need the warmth again. The unisex design is made to be worn over other layers and gear, with a roomier fit than the classic Tauko coat. Choose your size according to how you plan to wear the coat and how relaxed you want the fit to be.

The matte Pertex® Quantum NetPlus® fabric is lightweight, durable and highly wind-resistant. Its water-repellent microporous coating provides additional protection in changing weather conditions. The fabric is made from 100% recycled polyamide sourced from discarded fishing nets.

A retro logo from Joutsen’s outdoor collection completes this limited anniversary edition.

Joutsen down coats have been awarded the Design From Finland mark, which signifies Finnish design and responsible manufacturing. The coats are filled with scientifically tested, pure down and feathers sourced as by-products of the meat industry.


Down and feathers are cleaned to a high standard of safety and purity at our own processing plant using the multi-stage Joutsen Down System cleaning process.
