 HOW ARE THE DOWN QUALITY GRADES REPORTED?
Down mixture ratios are reported as weight ratios. The first number is the percentage of the weight that is down, and the second is that of downy feathers. Thus, 1,000 grammes of 90/10 down contains 900 grammes of down and 100 grammes of downy feathers. In its products, Joutsen Finland uses mixture ratios specified by European standard EN 12934 – for example, 60/40, 90/10, and 100% down. The colour of down has no effect on its quality.
